Please do not wait to seek out assistance. Most crisis situations can be avoided by seeking help early. Women In Need's goal is to provide unique assistance that fills the gap between what is available and what is necessary. There are many existing organizations that offer various levels of assistance, and we do not intend to duplicate any existing program. For this reason, we have established our referral network as the gateway program and thus require that potential clients exhaust all public and private remedies (Social Services, Private and Faith-based organizations) prior to being considered for additional assistance. If you have not sought out these available services, we will help you to contact them. Our ability to offer direct assistance is currently limited to Kent County, Maryland and neighboring Queen Annes County when possible. We will update this page whenever our ability to provide direct assistance expands. In all other areas we will attempt to provide as much guidance in seeking local assistance as possible.
